How to choose an AI voice recorder

Five questions decide almost every purchase.

1. Where will it live?

On your phone (Pocket, Plaud Note Pro) or on your body (Plaud NotePin S, Omi, Bee)? Phone-mounted recorders are great for calls and desk meetings. Wearables are better if you move around or record in-person conversations.

2. How much will you record?

Under about 300 minutes a month, the free plans from Plaud and Pocket both cover you. If you record more and want summaries and speaker labels, compare paid plans.

3. Do you want to keep the audio?

Plaud and Pocket keep the original recording. Some makers do not say. If you need to re-listen or share clips, pick a device that clearly keeps audio.

4. Calls or rooms?

For phone calls and larger meetings, more microphones help. The Plaud Note Pro has four.

5. How established is the maker?

Devices in this category come and go: the Limitless Pendant stopped selling in December 2025. A larger user base usually means longer support. Plaud reports more than two million devices shipped.

Our recommendation: Plaud NotePin S for wearable capture, Plaud Note Pro for calls and meetings.
